FUNDERTAINMENT, INC. LAUNCHES WEBSITE FOR SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE TO PROFIT FROM DVD/BLU-RAY SALES

September 27, 2011, LOS ANGELES – Fundertainment, Inc. (www.fundertainment.com) will launch a new fundraising program where major film studios and schools work together to drive incremental sales for the home entertainment industry; it was announced today by Brian Boquecosa, Founder, Fundertainment, Inc.  The program involves students directing their friends and family to purchase DVD and Blu-ray titles with up to 50% margin going to the school of their choice.

Fundertainment does not require schools to commit or pre-buy titles in bulk; instead, they aggregate orders into two periods per month and ship product back to the school for distribution.  The orders are consolidated and packaged for each student to reduce the administrative burden for the school.  New titles are added each month and consumers have the ability to order online, which allows the program to be executed year-round.

“U.S. consumers spend an estimated $2 Billion annually on purchasing products to support school fundraising initiatives” said Boquecosa.  “We feel we are a great option for people who are looking to get the most attractive product for their charitable dollar.”

As of 2010, DVD and Blu-ray consumer purchases in the U.S. totaled approximately $10 billion, while the total number of K-12 schools was over 132,000.  The company plans to focus initially on their penetration of these elementary and secondary schools and then expand the program to other charitable organizations at a later date.  The Fundertainment concept is ideally suited to offering multiple products simultaneously, and Digital Downloads and Video Games are already planned for 2012.

Boquecosa adds, “It’s great to have a business that raises money for a good cause.  And for the industry, this type of program conditions consumers to purchase product, as opposed to renting or streaming it, which is a more profitable business model for the studios.”
